At this time, a way to accomplish having just AR System loaded into a
cloud-based environment would be to form a relationship with a cloud-services
vendor like Amazon. They can provide the OS and DB environment where you can
then load whatever software that you are currently entitled to - which could be
just AR System, for example.

Subject: Re: Remedy on Demand question

** I have heard rumblings of a PAAS -- Platform As A Service.

Where -- you can get raw Remedy and skip the ITSM --- is this true?

>From my experience -- this could be quite nice...

As -- you REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY (^ 1000) don't want to touch a
machine if ITSM is on it.

Yet - business NEEDS to do business - and therefore touching is necessary.

Therefore -- CONFLICT...

But PAAS - would allow both to be happy.

(PS - I have always thought companies should have more Remedy servers that are
specialized vs... one huge Remedy server.
Having multiples avoids being at the mercy of the worst admin and the worst
performing forms and the worst planning)

Hi David,

Remedy OnDemand has an option where you can set up an additional reporting
server to run reports from, for example, BMC Analytics (as a service). Best to
contact your BMC sales representative for information on the best configuration
option for your business needs.

Subject: Remedy on Demand question

** Does Remedy on Demand provide an ODBC connection to the underlying database?
That be used to run a query for example in Crystal Reports on-site. If not
how have other users accomplished custom reporting? Is there an easy way to
export information and build a reporting datamart?

thanks
