Carl, Thanks for the links. I had seen them awhile ago so it was good to review them. I didn't see anything regarding the name field being indexed though. I'm hoping to hear from someone with a similar environment, without an index on the name field, that can say searching is fantastic. Or to give an explanation as to why searching by name might be the wrong thing for my users to be doing (after all, wouldn't BMC have included an index on that field if it was meant to be a common search criteria?)
On a side note... In 8.1, they moved a lot of attributes out of the CMDB and into Asset Management (on the AST:Attributes form). One of them was the "Floor" attribute. Oddly, they didn't move the "Room" attribute or the other location info. That seems strange as well.
