I have had some experience with this but I wouldn't say expert... these SLM measurements are run via escalations and I believe the default is 5 mins. Also you probably want to modify your ports/queues to allow for more threads to be used if you are using a lot of service targets. Sorry I can't remember right off hand which RPC number to modify.
