Mid-Tier + AR runs fine on 2GB memory in my VM, but I do not have ITSM installed on that machine. To run the installer you need X. I typically use Cygwin as X-server, and then do a ssh -X to the Linux server. I have a detailed script I follow in order to make everything run smoothly, so if anyone is interested, let me know.
