Well I don't really agree with that. Just renaming OO.o to X does not
make it a new product hence does not give you the right to call it
something else relogo it. Its not about the name it about the product.
As long as your product is OO.o you should respect that. At least,
morally, that's how I see it.

However if you choose to base a new product on OO.o then its perfectly
fine you can relogo and it call it what you will. It is a fundamental
concept of FOSS.

However your not being any less 'Open' just because you protect your
identity. For exemple:

http://www.debian.org/logos/
