Hi Kim,

Thanks for the answer.
Hmm. bummer.

I haven't been successful in running blast for more than 18 selected features at a time from within Artemis, and the beta of ACT2 doesn't do blasts because it doesn't write the files. So I've been trying to create output myself and find a nice way to display it.

When I simply write .tab files with the output, I get bitten by the minimum row length (previous email, below). I've tried tricking ACT into thinking it generated blastp results that I made, with no luck.

Is there a way to spoof a set of blast results so that it looks like I generated them from within ACT? (as in, "Create->Mark ORFs" and then "Select CDs" and then "Run Blastp on selected features") Using just the file_of_filenames and the file_number_counter and the format of the output files I haven't been able to trick Artemis or ACT into thinking it generated files that I made separately.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to specify the row width in the windows that pop up in response to "view selected features"? I'd like to make mine wider by about 40 characters, if possible.

Sorry, there is no way to change this without changing the source code.
The lines wrap at 80 characters because that is what EMBL and GenBank
require.

Kim.
