Subject: Re: [Artifactory-users] Importing backed up system doesn't overwrite
previous system
Hi Scott,
It seems that your issue is that you installed Artifactory version 3.0.4
$ARTIFACTORY_HOME in the same directory as the old instance (2.3).
Please notice that you need to install the new Artifactory instance in a
different location than the old one. see here:
http://www.jfrog.com/confluence/display/RTF/Upgrading+Artifactory#UpgradingArtifactory-Artifactory2.2.xaboveUpgradingFromVersion2.2.xandAbovetoVersion3.x
After you installed Artifactory 3.0.4 in a new location, and in a different
$ARTIFACTORY_HOME, you can run the import again.
After the import process complete, verify that all of your artifacts are there
and then you can delete the **old $ARTIFACTORY_HOME**
That should fix the issue you described.
Hope that helps,
Ariel

I just recently upgraded from Artifactory 2.3 to Artifactory 3.0.4. I
followed the upgrade instructions as indicated on
http://www.jfrog.com/confluence/display/RTF/Upgrading+Artifactory for
upgrading from Version 2.2.x and higher. I exported my system to a location
on the hard drive. I installed a new instance of Artifactory to a new
location, created a new service, and started the server (note: I didn't
define a new database, I just used the default settings). After I imported
my backed up service, I noticed it didn't overwrite the old system (stored
at $USER_HOME$/.artifactory). $USER_HOME$/.artifactory is now double in size
on the server's hard drive even though Artifactory is reporting the correct
nunmber of artifacts.
Is there anything I can do to free up the space on the hard drive? Was I
supposed to remove the old system ($USER_HOME$/.artifactory) prior to
upgrading?
Thanks,
Scott Deschenes
