Thats funny! It's the same way I feel when talking about Abbott.

2:

>Thus, consider this scenario: The majority of 3,164

(because

and -
> poof - Abbot funding gets cut because we are an affluent district.
Then
> what happens, these same new condo owners don't pay school taxes
(and
> don't care because they left the kids home heeding Larry's advice)
and
> the rest of us have to make up the slack.

You are right that that is a bad scenario - hope some Abbott expert
can tell us something different.

By the way I understand why Fishman said don't have families move
here yet - I've preached it myself. First some numbers: We know the
City is strapped and families use the most services. For instance,
If a family with two kids moves here, the education costs alone are
$36,000.00, and the family might pay $8 or 9K in total taxes. We
just are not financially ready for a mass influx of families (that
was the reason why the plan for 3100 condos was agreed to, because
they don't attract families). Second a morality issue: The schools
here are so bad that you have to disclose to people moving in just
how bad it really is. I would want to know.

>One government authority cannot condemn another unless it is
superior (state v. city, fed v state, etc).

     That was my understanding too.
