I will look at your patch with interest. I actually already received a notification about it but haven't had time to look over it. Python/GTK should be manageable for you if you already have the GTK background; I haven't had experience myself with Clutter. Please be sure to submit a proposal! Anything more that you can achieve before the deadline will help your proposal even more, as we are looking to judge people based on contributions as far as possible.
