I agree: an AsciiDoc based wiki would be best (not only for AsciiDoc
related things, but in general). I don't like the MediaWiki syntax
very much. It would be great if one could switch to "AsciiDoc mode" in
Wikia :)

Some Notes: IMHO a good and easy interface is very important for a
wiki, so while I would have no problem with git/hg it could be a big
threshold for a lot of (potential) AsciiDoc users. Also it is in my
experience that privately hosted wikis can be very unreliable (to no
fault of the admin), e.g. Gentoo Wiki. I chose Wikia because it is the
biggest out there and will never be just gone.

Anyway: If an AsciiDoc wiki will become available, I don't think it
will be too much trouble to migrate existing articles.
