I think that it wouldn't be too hard to write a CGI script to allow online editing. The sources could be stored under version control, and the preview and done buttons would trigger the asciidoc rebuild of the page, and the done button would also commit the source.
Also, installing and configuring asciidoc is somewhat sophisticated, I don't know that it would be a huge leap to using a Hg or Git front end. I would imagine it would virtually extinguish wiki vandalism.
