Ubuntu Release 11.04 (Natty)

Kernel 2.6.28-8-generic

Gnome 2.32.1

Firefox Version: 5.0+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.11.04.2

Since I upgraded to 11.04 (Natty) and Firefox 4+ my system has had
some strange behaviour that I think is related to this new default
desktop environment Canonical is pursuing (Unity, I think is the name)
which I tried to to turn off by using the old Gnome desktop as a
session default. However, I can't seem to kill this thing entirely
since in the middle of a session my desktop unexpectedly goes into
some kind of hybrid mode and my window theme changes and things get
weird. Also my system occasionally dumps out of Firefox when I click
on certain things and I'm kicked out to the login screen. It is
anyone's guess whether this behaviour is related to the print anomaly
I mentioned. When I get the time and interest I am switching to LXDE
on Lubuntu to get away from this bizarre Ubuntu desktop and its
idiosyncrasies -- probably when I buy a new laptop.
