Well! people do not realize the long-term effects. Another facet is the fact that services that are postponed (travel or surgeries) are also taken in stride by the people.

As for your other comments regarding "reflection of the lethargy of the Assamese race" you might expect a barrage from Chandan da. He is unlikely to let that pass by :).
