*** Luck has little to do with it. It is all about fundamental education. You 
need a sound backgroubnd in math, in the sciences. It alsao goes farther back: 
to reading, comprehension. An ability to write and express yourself helps too.

I spoke about being lucky NOT as  in a game of chance, but being fortunate to 
have had a sound basic education, taught mostly at home and not available at 
the schools we attended, just like you and couintless others. It does not mean 
you were too damn stupid like you accept or Umesh implies. It means the deck 
was stacked AGAINST you, for no fault of yours. THat is ther difference.

And look what  so many of those grads. of these elite technical institutions 
end upo doing? They become clerks, pushing paper, in the west. Is that a waste 
of scarce national resources or what ?
