My intention was to point out a wrong use of the mailing list and not to cause disrespect to the individual. We should not be too sensitive here. A youngster can give as much valuable knowledge to an elder as the other way round. Saying that there is a "Delete" button for unwanted emails is hardly a valid call.
If I had known the age of the person sending the emails, I would have phrased my email differently instead of being abruptly harsh. For that I do apologize. I did think that the person to be a new journalist wanting to make his presence felt. I still hold the view that spams are a big waste of time and resource. I cannot control what is being posted. I can only wish that they are more centric towards the purpose of the list. Meaningful posts may even invite discussion sometimes.
