BTW, aren't magistrates usually IAS types?<<

While on the topic of corruption,a news item appeared in today's " Assam Tribune" caught my sharp attention,in which CM( Mr.Tarun Gogoi) claims that " in the last three years, the state managed to make rapid progress in the field of road communication".It reminds me of much-vaunted promise, made by the same gentleman immediately after taking over the charge of chief ministership that " 80% of the city's roads would be repaired by the 31st October,2002".The date came and went away.Have we seen any repair works worth the name? Most of the potholes ( better still,if I call them craters) are still left to be filled.
It also reminds me of much-hyped austerity excercise by the same Government. These accomplished parasites ( politicians,IAS/IPS) donot simply qualify to preach austerity unless they themselves learn how to ward off waste. If one looks at the senior level officers in Dispur, one finds that each one of them has three or four vehicles ( of course,Government vehicles) at their disposal--not to speak of chauffeurs, peons, servants and what not.Our babus fly to Delhi on the flimsiest of pretexts only to spend public money. Is this a sign of austerity measure?
