I apreciate liberal view of Utpal Brahma. in fact we NE people are as liberal
as the Western people. But the irony is - while western people (read Govts.)
are Powerful as well as liberal WE ARE NOT. thats why you need H1B
visa/GRE/TOEFL to enter USA and we have to accommodate the illegal BD migrants
even though we dont have enough spaces to grow paddy for food!
********* "Think practically. It would be a political, logistical
and humanitarian challenge to banish millions of those
people who have resided in our land for nearly half a
century. " *****************
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
- we had annexed freedom from the then mighty British! Sheer Willpower and
total commitment of our Pre-independent forefathers had saved us from the
slavery.
- there were hardly any BD immigrants in the first parts of Nineteenth
century. Sir Sadullah Ministry 1944-45 de-reserved grazing reserves in
Kamrup, Darrang and Nowgong districts for settling BD (then East Bengali )
peasants, ostensibly for increasing paddy production but the Real Goal was to
make them majority and include Assam in Pakistan.
Sadulla is no more but it seems his wish is going to be fulfilled!
IF WE WISH SOMETHING AND TRY HARD WE WILL SUCCEED. IF WE DONT TRY WE WILL
PERISH.

Hitler was a Total Failure and a curse to Humanity. there is no way we shall
take Hitlers method to solve this problem.
as i said earlier we have to start a NEW MOVEMENT . different from Hitlers
method, different from the AASU movement, different from the ULFA movement.
People should come out with their ideas.
With best Regards.

described as our wish list.
We may wish that there was no illegal immigrants to
our land between 1948 and 1972. We may wish that we
could drive out all those through a new movement. We
could wish that we take a big eraser wipe the
existence of Bangladesh once for all to solve this
migration issue.

We should definitely preserve our culture and
identity. But whether we like it or not, we have to
learn to accommodate the so called migrants . The
solution lies in extending economic co-operation
between Assam and its neighbors which will ensure
that there is uniform economic opportunity in both
sides of border and which will eventually discourage
unidirectional migration purely on economic grounds.
Whether we like it or not, we have to realize Human
Migration is a very basic trait of homo-sapiens and
will always continue.
Otherwise, your and my forefathers will still be
tilling the soils in the upper reaches of the Great
Yantze River in China. Going further back in history,
may be we could still be digging for water holes in
the sub-saharan Africa. Check this out from National
