Hi Rabin I'm not sure whether you read Assam History in detail, which unlike India's other dynasties is well documented over centuries, a fact certified by the likes of Sir Edward Gait. Unless you know it well equating Ahom=Assamese; is like branding all South Indians as 'Madrasi'- which displays the naivety of the writer, other than anything else. You are an intelligent person, so there must be a reason for your reasoning.
In any case let me tell you how this Gogoi clan has evolved. During Swargodew Rudra Singha's time, the descendants of the four Ahom royal clans have multiplied manifold, during that period Ahoms were adopting other people in a great fervour as their land was expanding and they needed more manpower and real descendants were losing royal favour. They demanded special recognition and Swargodew allowed them to be called 'Songoi-' or 'songoti'- which over time became 'Gogoi'-due to linguistic corruption. What is the purpose of your take on Ahom led ULFA or Assam? In any case you don't have to rue for long. Its just a matter of few years before long Mr. Badruddin Ajmal leads Assam. -MKD On Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 4:53 AM, rabindeka <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: "native-Assamese = Ahom" is what is I am using, a professional representation e.g., born in United Kingdom is a British think of a Ahom state in India, imagine to introduce If your great grand were born in Ahom kingdom you have soft-gene of Ahom system -- like co-ordinate points on the axes of Ahom system -- 600 years was good enough to alter soft-gene. Repulsive-mannered (also parametric-mannered) seen now among Ahom nationals is probably soft-gene driven (lets hope for the best and this is not true). If true we can predict where Ahom nationals will be on time axis (over time) in future, and where they drag Assam along with them. In addition to Manoj Rajib Bhattacharyya wrote as well that ULFA leaders are Moran-Mataks. Correct me: Pradip Gogoi and Arabindia Rajkhowa are the two who claimed to be founding members of ULFA and Bhimkanta Burhagohain is the one regarded as the founding member & ideal of ULFA. Then they had recruited whole lot. Using definition of Manoj Das and Rajib Bhattacharyya, current Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi must be Moran-Matak -- branch of Chutiya. Am I correct here? rabin --- "Manoj Das" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: ULFA leaders are not Ahoms.
