Re the ECB posting, I still don't get it..sorry. The agreement seems to be the the subtasks clears the ECB with a blocked instruction as soon as it comes out of the wait. Well actually after he has checked the post code, but there is no guarantee he will be dispatched before the poster. Consider The poster posts the ECB with a 'do work' completion code He gets redispatched before the waiter for some reason and receives a stop signal. At this point he wants to post the ECB with a 'STOP' completion code, but the post bit is still on and MVS will ignore the second post code.
I think I have just convinced myself I need 2 ECBs for the job...am I right?
