I am way too much of a been newbie to dare comment. Without adequate
training, my need is mostly less than that ofthe average subscriber on the
list. I normally fail to predict whether the answer is in the language ref
or programmers guide.
When looking in the poo I often just need a bit of reminder, not always the
full detail. Like to fix my mistake to write slr when I want srl... Or to
see whether the instruction modifies cc or not. Maybe a book like the pocket
ref but in font I can read. Bonus for a book small enuf that it does not
have to be pdf only.

Certainly, most of us lost skill and patience to read anything more than a
page. It is not fair to blame the book. Read "The Shallows" while you still
can. :-)
