We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. We have our own implementation of 
a library that does regular expressions and I use it a lot. I think regular 
expressions are a very valuable and versatile tool... But your reaction is not 
uncommon: just about every 'hardcore COBOL/mainframe programmer' reacts the 
same way when they see their first regular expression.
