All, In the new PoO (Publication SA22-7832-11) I noticed something peculiar. On page 7-308, in the left-hand column (relating to Multiply Single), second bullet, last sentence but one it is stated: For MSG and MSGC, the multiplier is a 64-bit signed binary integer, respectively, at the second-operand location in storage.
Knowing that it takes extreme precision to read the PoO correctly, I am wondering about the meaning of the word "respectively" in this sentence. It seems superfluous. Am I mistaken? If so, then what is its significance? Kind regards, Abe Kornelis ========== Op 15-9-2017 om 8:07 schreef Dan Greiner: > The IBM z14 processor is generally available today (14 September 2017). > > The z/Architecture Principles of Operation corresponding to the new z14 > processor is available at http://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/dz9zr011.pdf > > The z/Architecture Reference Summary corresponding to the new z14 processor > is available at http://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/dz9zs009.pdf >
