To add to this - there were no errors or anything out of the ordinary in
what did get logged in the maillog.  I'm assuming at this point that the
default setting of a new feature caused this issue, but I cannot work
through it to confirm it for myself at this time (business hours).  In
order to resume necessary mail-flow, I had to temporarily revert back to
(35).

I'll try to continue troubleshooting this in a few hours.  Hopefully
someone has an idea of what new default setting might have caused such a
slow down?  Based on list chatter I am assuming it is possibly due to
the session response delaying?
