First log was remote Postfix server, second was my local mail.info log 
(combined Postfix and ASSP).

I thought that myself - but I'm talking with Wietse (Postfix's author) - 
and he didn't indicate a problem on HIS end!  Doesn't mean there wasn't 
one, I'm just willing to state it's more likely my setup is broken than his.

Yes - via LDAP.

The darn thing is I'm not aware of any other lost mail - this is the 
first time the problem was brought to my attention, and since it was 
from Wietse, I figured it was legitimate.  I'm getting a boatload of 
other mail from my lists and correspondence - so I don't know what 
triggered this.  I AM concerned that Wietse's server reported a "503" 
error, and I can't find anything about it in my logs.
