I'm not sure why everyone is making this so complicated.  There are 2 
machines in the loop so all the port adjustments are optional.  The dead 
simple configuration is:

Internet - smtp -> ASSP - smtp-> MTA - smtp -> Client - pop/imap/etc

Client - smtp -> ASSP - smtp -> MTA - smtp -> Internet

I've been running this in multiple sites for 3-4 years.  It works just 
fine.  I run it here at home on a single IP.  The firewall handles all 
the port redirection to send inbound 25 to ASSP in both cases.   One 
site is running with MTA sending to the ISP as a forward, the other runs 
with the MTA sending directly.
