I don't know about most people, but it has been extremely useful here. About three years ago, maybe slightly more, I started registering an address all over the internet at various sites that would obviously put it on spam lists. For instance the "Free ipod!, now complete 20 offers to claim it!". It took me about 3 hours at most. We now get hundreds of submissions a day to that address. Because I only passed it to illegitimate sources I know without a doubt any IP sending mail to it is a spam source. PB blocks those IP's as soon as they try to send to it. I'm curious how many emails would be submitted to that address if the trap addresses weren't there to cut offending IP's off at the pass.
We also switched email domains over six years ago. Email STILL comes to that domain which has long since been retired. *[email protected] is also in the trap address. It also catches hundreds of IP's a day. FWIW. Paul K.
