Thanks Greybear and Fritz for your input on this. I tried this, and enabled diagnostic level SSL logging. Perl hangs, and drives the CPU to 100% after the following message:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <> client on port xxx issued STARTTLS - converting to SSL My perl is a bit old, 5.01, so I will look into updating that, and getting the latest IO::Socket::SSL module, which is currently at 1.22 Any other suggestions?
