Asterisk TS-1
Bill,
Well, it's pretty much
impossible to argue with that assertion. I would not claim
that it isn't obvious, only that it's a good idea and we did it
first.
My main point is that it
can be tricky to make these things work properly, and we have a production
tested product.

Your device looks like a
good product. But I suspect that many, if not most of the subscribers to
this list regard the concept as pretty obvious. I think you are indulging
in a conceit to declare the Xorcom device to be an imitation of your product,
regardless of how long you've been selling it.

The TS-1 is a pretty transparent attempt to cash in on the success of our
VS-1 Asterisk Voice Server. Of course, imitation is the sincerest form of
flattery, but flash-based systems have to be designed correctly or they
won't last. If you want something that has been proven in production for
almost two years now, take a look at the original:

These machines have enough horsepower to handle a small business. The VS-1
provides additional storage for configuration, voicemail, CDR's, log files,
etc. -Mike

This unit looks nice:

It's not very powerful but I'm sure it's more than enough as
a clever SOHO end point, say to manage SIP phones properly.
You probably still have to do voicemail IP-centrex style though.
Any ideas about pricing?
Cheers,
Jean-Michel.
