According to http://www.digium.com/en/company/profile/trademarkpolicy.php Section 'The Trademarks' Digium owns the following trademarks, among others: DIGIUM, ASTERISK, IAX, and DUNDi. Section 'Uses that are Not Approved by this Policy' The calling of any software or product by the name "DIGIUM" or "ASTERISK" (another Digium Trademark), unless that software or product is an Unmodified Digium Product as defined in the "General" section of this Trademark Policy. Section 'General' Digium considers it important to distinguish between "Unmodified" Digium Software and third-party versions. Unmodified Digium Software is the software in the same form as originally distributed by Digium, without modification to the code of any extent. So does Digium really want to say that if you take the GPL version of asterisk you must go through and rename all references to iax, dundi, digium and asterisk if you modifiy anything (or just add modules that arent distributed with the digium codebase)? Further you are not allowed to say that your product (perhaps a SOHO pbx where you just combined asterisk, a few third party modules, and a soekris box) is using Asterisk, or advertise iax or dundi as features of that pbx? -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast IE +44 28 9099 6461 DE +49 801 777 555 3402 Utrecht NL +31 306 553058 US WA +1 360 207 0479 US NY +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 http://www.trxtel.com the VoIP provider that pays you! _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- asterisk-biz mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz
