Yes, I did build from sub-version, and I found zaptel.h , and I full pathed it
in the include,   it then was needing zap.h, which is the one I couldn't find.

do be more specific with your observations. did you build zaptel from the
zaptel-bsd subversion repository and install it ? this would install
zaptel.h in /usr/local/include as per the freebsd convention.
