that did the work, I already had ( I guessed about this :) the pri_cpe option in zapata.conf.
so having in zaptel.conf:


bchan=1-15,17-31
dchan=16

and in zapata.conf:

signaling=pri_cpe

made E1 work with PRI signaling

Also my guess that Cisco`s switchtype primary-net5 ~= Asterisk EuroISDN am I right? This at least works with Seimens EDSW

I think we should have this added to documentation in /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf
