Yes.

Yes.  Also, the LGPL license does permit linking with proprietary code
dynamically, so binary only modules would be fine.

No problem, it's easy to get confused :)  I would, however, take issue
with the GPL being "evil".  It's not my *ideal* license, but it certainly
is good enough.
