Probably is not the solution, but try to use two telephone twisted pairs instead of the LAN cable. The impedance must be 120 ohms at 1.024 Mhz. LAN cable does not fulfil this requirement.

My card is E400P.. About the cable lenght. The cables are like this:

[telco]----about 250 feet, bnc cable----[baloon]---short LAN cable--[*]
