It's not your fault. DTMF and SIP simply do not seem to get along. For some light reading, try RFC-2833. Don't expect it to solve your problem, though. I have spent countless hours trying to get DTMF to work properly between an SPA3000, a Polycom 501, and Asterisk. It was like playing whack-a-mole; solve one issue and another would pop up. I finally gave up and yanked the SPA3000 in favour of a Sangoma board. Not because I felt it was the Sipura's fault per se, but simply because I needed to remove at least one SIP device from the equation. For whatever reasons, DTMF over IP is a pain.
