Just thought I'd dump a response in here...

>The only reason I can't go with them is that they block port 25(SMTP/mail).

Actually, they don't block any port at all...... This is actually the reason
why I dumped Sympatico about 6 months ago...... I asked the Rep. before getting
their DSL srv, and he answered (not word for word tho) we don't really care
what you do as long you don't cross the legal boundaries...We don't close any
ports in our network...

Got the 3web service and can you all my ports no problem (in/out bound
traffic)......

>Not sure if they provide relay servers, but I'll wait and see.
Well, if you're looking for SMTP relay services, dyndns.org is not bad.

Henry - (I just completed my final test :
5.5 megs down / 796kbs up (which I think is pretty near the theoretical
limits))
==> I was wondering how many simnutaneous calls do you get on your Asterisk
box.........never got a chance to test it out.....and BTW, which speed test
tool did you use?

Thanks guys and have a great one!

Claudius

I didn't know they blocked SMTP, I don't need to use their POP3 so I
use the SMTP for three IMAP accounts.
If you are running an email server then I guess this could be an issue.
I think these guys could be missing an opportunity
They should offer a special business deal 6megs up/6megs down no port
blocking.
I just completed my final test :
5.5 megs down / 796kbs up (which I think is pretty near the theoretical
limits)

I 'm a speed freek !

Regards
Henry
