This is how I understand things.

There were a number of issues with [EMAIL PROTECTED] (AAH)- the major ones
being the name and upgradeability (or lack thereof).
TrixBox is basically still the same as AAH (same author, same components), but
with the major difference being that there is now an upgrade path. The various
components have been packaged into RPMs for distribution.
So far it is still free.

HUDpro (HUDlite bundled with TrixBox) is basically a much more sophisticated
version of the Flash Operators Panel (FOP) and is commercial software written
by Fonality to work with their Asterisk distribution called PBXtra - based on
Asterisk 1.0.
HUDlite is the "free" version, with a limited set of features -

Supposedly HUDlite can run on generic versions of Asterisk, but I haven't been
able to test this yet.

At the moment I don't believe you can even purchase HUDpro to work with generic
versions of Asterisk - only Fonality's own software. I think the pricetag is
around US$1000 for HUDpro.
Of course they would like to sell HUDpro to a larger audience, so probably
HUDlite is put out to generate interest, gather feedback and check for
bugs/features.
