Two options:
Web based Click to Call or use Callback.
Click Info:
If the boss has Internet access ( not dial up on the land line ) Click
to Call function is easy.
Give her a dedicated custom webpage, that would have the asterisk box
dial her landline and give her DISA access. Or on the page give her an
input field for the number to dial and have asterisk setup the call.
Take a look here for more details: http://www.azxws.com/asterisk/
For Callback, you could get asterisk to only answer calls from her
Uxbridge number after 6 or 8 rings. So she calls lets it ring 2-3 times
and hangs up. Then get asterisk to cal her back and present her with a
dialtone. If she really wants to dial in she knows to let it keep
ringing and then it will answer as normal.
Just a few thoughts.

I'm in a bit of a crappy situation... I've implemented Asterisk/Trixbox
for a client. Everything is great. Everyone works from their homes,
Remote staff, etc...
The problem is with "the boss".
The boss, of course, have a lovely house up in Uxbridge/Mount Albert.
Nestled in a small gentle valley.
Of course, it's in the middle of BF nowhere as far as technology is
concerned.
DSL doesn't appear to be available in the area (been coming soon for
years).
Cable, same thing.
There is a vendor in the area that sells wireless, however, the gentle
valley kills the signal, so no wireless available (it's available about
2km up the road).
The same vendor offers Sat system... It's installed and working, but it
sucks at the best of times... very slow just browsing the web.
So, I obviously can't give her VoIP connections via Sat (unless someone
knows differently).
Her long distance bill is over $100 / month.
The Asterisk box is hosted in Toronto, so it's a LD call to it from her
land line.
I'd love to get a nice running Internet Connection if possible.
Or at minimum, get her a solid telecom or VoIP solution.
Has anyone ever run into this type of situation and come up with a good
solution or combination of ideas that would lessen the blow?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards,
Chuck
