DimDim announced something at LinuxWorld in Boston the summer:

might be able to find a review or demo or something out there.  It
appears to be both a service and a set of source for building your own.

I did use something called "epresence" which is put out by the
University of Toronto's KMDI group (but I've never installed it). It's
more of a web conferencing system than a teleconferencing front end. It
seemed to work quite well for a range of webconferencing functions
(though it was no where near as easy to use or set up as WebEx).  I
think they have been refining it for some time though so it might be
worth checking out.

I don't think there's an "asterisk conferencing plugin" for epresence -
... yet ;-)
