I was reading some bits of "Asterisk - The Future of Telephony" and found this interesting note:
"If you are interested in The Voice of Asterisk, she is Allison Smith, and she can deliver customized recordings for you to use on your own system. This is an extremely cool concept, as very few PBXs allow you to use the same voice in your custom recordings as is used by the system prompts. To make use of Allison's talents, sign up at http://thevoice.digium.com." So I went to find out more but it looks like this service is closing down. According to the site: "This site has been discontinued and will only be available until December 1, 2006. You can no longer buy credits for use on thevoice.digium.com. Voice prompt can still be purchased individually off the Digium website. Credits already purchased for use on thevoice.digium.com are still valid until the 30th of November, 2006." Too bad - sounds like a neat feature. I don't need it but I thought it'd be worth mentioning in case anyone has credits they want to use up. -- -- Rob Russell http://www.latenightpc.com/blog/
