Hi Syed,

We use Idefisk softphone for our customers. It's IAX-based, lightweight,
and has performed well so far for us. Idefisk provides the ability to
download the software in a zip archive which contains a config file. If
you edit the config file and re-archive the files, you can just send
your client the new zip. Then all you have to do is provide instructions
for unzipping the file. The softphone will be pre-configured when they
launch it.

Alex

Subject: [on-asterisk] Asterisk and Softphone

I have some customers using x-lite soft phone to connect to my Asterisk
box
to make outgoing calls. Each time when I create their account, I send
them
detail instructions on how to configure the soft phone.

I am wondering if I can make a soft phone preconfigured for them so all
they
need to do is enter their user name and password and can use it. These
users
are not that computer savvy and sometimes it takes hours to have them
enter
these ip addresses, port information and etc.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Syed
