Trixbox comes with a lot of stuff that you probably will not need. In my
opinion it is better to do just install CentOS+Asterisk+zaptel+freepbx. This
way you will have a cleaner system and in the process you will learn about
installing from source code on linux.

I'd say Trixbox if you are to chose between Trixbox or AsteriskNow.
Simply, because Trixbox is bundled with other packages and there are lots of
scripts for it out there but AsteriskNow does not have that big pool of
supporters yet. Personally, if AsteriskNow does some packaging and does good
documentation and provides a better active forum then I would rather go with
AsteriskNow because then you will be able to try the latest version of
Asterisk. Trixbox people do not plan to deploy Asterisk 1.4 anytime soon
and that's not good enough for me(Well, it's not only Trixbox thing; it's
mostly a freepbx thing). But AsteriskNow GUI is not as good as FreePBX is
now.
