I did some work a few years back with a couple software packages doing that for WiFi (more focused on illegal AP and intruders). It could pinpoint a region and a floor fairly well, enough to put you in the space to take a handheld pda based analyzer and find the unit exactly. Marine unit was there 5 minutes after the land based units were. I was very impressed...though past experiences with OPP have always been favorable. Yes, the guy survived, though commented he wouldn't have made it another 10 minutes.
