Or a Countryman E6 head.

Make sure you use recording software that has a compressor built in. This is
crucial for maintaining level on spoken word recordings. Much better than
dealing with it in post production.

Ideally we need to get someone to loan or donate a wireless lavalier mic
that can be fed into a sound card.

Another idea might be a bluetooth headset, although getting the levels right
would require a bit of a sound check at the beginning.
