I do feel sorry for the fine folks that will lose their jobs over this, but there will be other opportunities.
Yes. Bankruptcies are sometimes nature's (err, the market's) way of cleaning up our messes for us. As in nature, most good stuff gets recycled.
I also feel sad that this Canadian institution, with over 100 years of history, is now nothing more than history.

I remember as a kid of 5 or 6 asking my dad why it said "Northern Electric" on our telephone and, after hearing his explanation, being somehow reassured that Canada was good enough to manufacture its own telephones. Sadly, no more. Well, even at the end the manufacturing was mostly in China anyway.
But frankly, they've been deteriorating for many years now, and it's time to harvest the organs, say a tearful farewell, and lay the mangled corpse to rest.
Yup. "Farewell".
