[on-asterisk] To Asterisk Gurus + Service Providers

Hi Guys,
What does it take to have your own SMS gateway? I understand that it's a 
feature of SS7 and wondering if that is something that can be done over a 
T1/PRI.
There is the libss7 for Asterisk but wondering if that is only for telco 
providers and really useless for the rest of us.
