Subject: RE: [on-asterisk] externip problem
Is there any other place than sip.conf and any other settings other than
externip=x.x.x.x that would effect the sip packet? I can clearly see that sip
packets ignore the externip variable and send the local ip of 10.x.x.x over.
Any other Guru has experience with this?
Thanks

:-) What I was trying to relay is that this is an amazon instance and they have
their own firewall tool and other wise there is not firewall on this system.
IPTABLES is also disabled. Even if with system-config-securitylevel installed
the tool won't run since it's using amazon network tools.

yum install system-config-securitylevel :)

Thanks for the input. IPTABLES is not running as it shows in service
iptables status.
system-config-sercuritylevel is unknown command on this CentOS install.

Hey Bruce if its on a static ip already you should be good to role (bar
local issues with your external clients fw/routers)
One thing that is usually a stumper for most people is that operating
system like cantos 5 come with firewall rules already turned on by
default , Id start there, you can use system-config-securitylevel to
set
that to off.

Hi guys,
I have tried setup externip=public ip of asterisk server and
nat=yes in sip.conf but when I do a sip debug I see that packets are
sent with private ip of 10.x.x.x which get a deny of service.
What exact settings have to be set for a server behind nat? It is
an Amazon server and not even behind NAT. Has static IP from amazon
and firewall rules allow 5060 tcp/udp and 10000-20000 udp.
ThanksBruce
