Hi Mathew... Any reason why it needs to be SIP based if it is just going from one camera to one TV? I assume I am reading that wrong (you said you don't need conferencing so sounds like just a video feed to a TV). Is it a security system? A video feed?
I have been looking at using the almost released Axis security cameras (newer models seem very cool... PoE, 720p, TCP/IP, record to local SD slot/card AND dump to a network share for recording).... NOT SIP Based. Free software for Windows and iPhone/Android, etc... for live viewing the camera(s). More advanced software licensing available. You could throw a small form factor PC with HDMI out and view the video stream using the AXIS for windows/mac software. I also think that Samsung Smart/Internet TV's currently have a camera app that can monitor some models of AXIS cameras feeds (others?) So you could internet connect your Samsung, download the app... and setup camera monitoring. Keep in mind, you would have to power the TV on, go to internet options and run the app... so not exactly instant/dedicated. I'm hoping someone on this list can help me find what I'm looking for. What I need is a simple SIP video endpoint with a camera that does HD output to a TV. Think the Cisco Umi but using open SIP. A settop box with a camera, a SIP account, and an HDMI output. Every solution I've found is ether tied to a proprietary network (the Umi, etc), doesn't exist any more, or includes the ability to do conferencing (which I don't need). Does any one know of any device that does what I want? It seems like a logical thing but no one appears to sell it.
