Hello

all sangoma cards use same driver wanpipe
just a selection on compilation for supported protocols
for echo cancellation you need to have devfs support in the kernel
for hardware test we have all equipment needed in stock
we have required sangoma's support for integration in uclib

best regards

do all the Sangoma cards use the same drivers ???  can we get a low end card for purposes of experimentation to get it working and count on the end result being applicable to the higher end cards ???  could we possibly get Sangoma to help ???  do you think maybe they might be willing to recompile their driver set for us ???

stupid questions that I was wondering if anyone else had asked on this issue ...

Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] Sangoma Status

I would REALLY like to see Sangoma better supported in AstLinux. I would even be willing to help chip into a bounty to make it happen. However, I feel that the best approach is for someone who has the necessary skills and "some" free time initiate a dialogue with Sangoma and get them to do the real hard-core patching etc.

From what I understand Sangoma's support is really top notch. I've read a few posts online about how Sangoma created custom patches for specific customer problems and then later rolled them into their official release. When I emailed them about this last week they seemed very eager to help. They mentioned that they had their drivers working on AstLinux in the past and would like to see it working again.

In my humble opinion any donations would be better served going to Kris and his team. These drivers are just a small piece of a VERY large puzzle.

I'm going try forwarding this email chain to the support person I corresponded with to try and show them that there really is a demand for their hardware to run in AstLinux. Maybe that will be enough to get and expert to dedicate some of their time to make this work.
