Good feedback from all- thanks I've played with the wdlsystems offerings, but am generally unimpressed- build quality seems ok, but the unit runs hot, and the one I have, once built, uses thermal paste to help hold the case together (screws too, obviously). This means long term maintenance will make its cooling profile worse, or you need to get a new pad each time- ick. It is also no simple matter to get the disk on module installed correctly- we fried a whole unit with a simple misalignment. The unit has been in production now for 6 months, running as a billboard kiosk- I do not think it will last 2 years
Thanks again- I'll,l let you know if I get the fit as to how it works out On 10/14/07, Kristian Kielhofner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On 10/13/07, Paul Davidson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Anyone out there used this one? http://www.fit-pc.com/ > > > > It got a good writeup at ExtremeTech, and aside from the hard drive (from > > the forums, it looks possible to replace it with a IDE to CF adapter, and > > probably cut the power requirement further, not to mention increase it's > > durability), it looks like a perfect small Asterisk box.
