I wonder if the powers that be who are doing such a wonderful job with AstLinux would consider incorporating the wctdm patch mentioned previously to the 0.5 release. This doesn't really cause any problems, only is used by the FXS port on the TDM400 and pulse dial phones, but would help a few present and future users of AstLinux. Many of us are not smart enough to do this ourselves, and have to live with the packaged image or code, which is superb, I must say.

Thanks

I wanted to update the list on a few changes in development. If you build your own images, you'll want to read this in detail. Even if you don't build your own images, you'll want to read this to understand some of the changes.

First, if you were using trunk, last week Kris branched what was in trunk to 0.5. If you were using trunk before, I would strongly recommend using the 0.5 branch. Some of the upcoming changes to trunk may cause temporary breakage.

I know Kris has been working on the changelog from the 0.4.8 release to what will be the 0.5.0 release. The changes are significant. The 0.5 branch will remain with Asterisk 1.2.x. There are several package additions, security updates and fixes which will make it worth while upgrading to 0.5 when images are released. These images are again coming "soon" but soon is defined as when Kris gets the time to crank out the images and upload them.

As I mentioned trunk may become temporarily broken over the next few weeks. Some of the changes that have been tested in the asterisk-beta branch will be moved over to trunk. This includes Asterisk 1.4 (yeah). We may also bump the kernel version which would require rebuilding the toolchain.

There is no specific timeline for work in trunk. Please don't flood the list with "are we there yet" questions. The goal of Astlinux is a stable and optimal operation. After we've stabilized trunk, we'll post another message to the list to let everyone know that the major changes are done.
